In services, particularly those offering Injection Equipment Provision (IEP), workers should ask people who inject drugs the question, ‘How are your sites?’

It is important to know how to recognise when injection sites have turned into wounds.

By focusing on the structure of the skin, skin problems in people who inject and the differences in certain types of wounds, this wound awareness course designed by Scottish Drugs Forum will help guide workers in the right direction when examining a person’s sites.
