About the Network
The Motivational Interviewing Network of Scottish Coaches (MINSC) is a collaborative initiative between Scottish Drugs Forum, Public Services Delivery Scotland in a partnership with MI coaches in Scotland.

Developing MI coaches, expanding access, strengthening practice.
Mission
Our mission is to strengthen Scotland’s capacity for motivational interviewing by fostering collaboration among MI coaches laying the foundation for growth and excellence in the practice of MI. Through MI coach development, peer support, and seeking to expand opportunities to access MI coaching in Scotland, we aim to support the embedding of MI practice into Scotland’s helping fields.

Strategic Focus Areas
Coach Development
Building a network of trained MI coaches through learning and development opportunities and
providing collaborative support to each other in becoming more informed and skilful MI coaches.
Capacity Building/
Expanding Access
Supporting the availability of MI coaching across sectors through recruiting new MI coaches to the
network. Providing new MI coaches with development opportunities to become informed and skilful coaches in facilitating MI coach groups within new regions across Scotland.
Scottish MI WInter School
Supporting the planning and delivery of the annual Scottish MI Winter School providing participants with the opportunity to enhance and develop their skills in Motivational Interviewing through small group coaching.
