March 10 @ 9:15 am – 3:30 pm
This facilitator course will support trauma-informed practice when working with people who are affected by trauma and who use substances.
Course objectives:
- Define the concept of psychological trauma
- Describe how substance use is used as an adaptive coping response to trauma and its impact
- Identify how to respond to the needs of those affected by trauma at a trauma-informed level
Skilled Level: The skilled level specifies the practice-specific knowledge and skills expected of practitioners who have direct or substantial contact and responsibility for people affected by substance use, and who are responsible for direct care or treatment of people affected by substance use. The ‘skilled’ level would typically apply to those in roles where there is responsibility for planning and delivery of support, care, or treatment.
Please do not book training on another person’s behalf, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training. This allows the learner to track their own learning progress and receive certificates on completion of training for their CPD records.
