Principles of Harm Reduction (Online SCOTLAND WIDE)

This facilitator led course will support an awareness of the main drug related harms and understanding of the principles of Harm Reduction. 

Course objectives:  

• Define the principles of harm reduction and understand the background to them  

• Recall the range of harms caused by drug use and describe harms from specific substances  

• Identify sources of support to reduce drug related harm, in relation to signposting people who use your service   

Informed Level: The informed level specifies the baseline practice-specific knowledge and skills every worker in the drugs and alcohol sector should be developing upon entering employment. 

Please do not book training on another person’s behalf, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training. This allows the learner to track their own learning progress and receive certificates on completion of training for their CPD records.
