Mental Health and Substance Use (Inverclyde)

This facilitator led course will increase knowledge and awareness of key issues relating to supporting mental health and substance use in Scotland.
Course objectives:
- ​Recall the prevalence of people with co-existing substance use and mental health issues 
- Describe the relationship between mental health and substance use 
- Gain an overview of common mental health conditions  
- Identify the impact of stigma in relation to drug use and mental health  
- Identify how to support and signpost people affected by mental health and substance use  
- Understand the importance of self-care when working in a support setting 
Informed Level: The informed level specifies the baseline practice-specific knowledge and skills every worker in the drugs and alcohol sector should be developing upon entering employment.
Please do not book training on another person’s behalf, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training. This allows the learner to track their own learning progress and receive certificates on completion of training for their CPD records.
