Drug Awareness (GLASGOW)

August 25 @ 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
This facilitator led course aims increase drug awareness and knowledge and participants will have the opportunity to explore current and emerging trends within substance use. The training will consider harm reduction and support strategies.
Course objectives:
- ​Identify the reasons why people use substances.
- Name the 7 key drug categories and their key effects.
- Recall local current drug trends and patterns of use.
- Discuss how attitudes and stigma can affect recovery.
Discuss effective strategies and treatment options to support people who use drugs, including harm reduction.
Informed Level: The informed level specifies the baseline practice-specific knowledge and skills every worker in the drugs and alcohol sector should be developing upon entering employment.
Please do not book training on another person’s behalf, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training. This allows the learner to track their own learning progress and receive certificates on completion of training for their CPD records.
