If you are outwith this area please check our Training Calendar to view available courses.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThis facilitator led course aims increase drug awareness and knowledge and participants will have the opportunity to explore current and emerging trends within substance use. The training will consider harm reduction and support strategies.  \n\n\n\nCourse objectives:  \n\n\n\n\n ​Identify the reasons why people use substances.\n\n\n\n\n\nName the 7 key drug categories and their key effects. \n\n\n\n\n\nRecall local current drug trends and patterns of use.\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscuss how attitudes and stigma can affect recovery.\n\n\n\n\nDiscuss effective strategies and treatment options to support people who use drugs\, including harm reduction. \n\n\n\nInformed Level: The informed level specifies the baseline practice-specific knowledge and skills every worker in the drugs and alcohol sector should be developing upon entering employment.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease do not book training on another person’s behalf\, each learner should set up their own account on the SDF Learning Centre to book their own training.
